If you've ever tried to get a cute photo of your dog mid-zoomie or mid-yawn and ended up with a blur, a butt, or a total chaos creature you're not alone. Great dog photography is kind of magic. It takes patience, timing, and someone who really gets dogs.
So today I want to share three dog photographers in Europe who are doing it so right. Their work feels like a love letter to the dogs we adore and I think you'll fall in love with them too.
📸 Sven from Schnutenkunst (Germany)
Sven is the kind of photographer who makes you feel like you’re hanging out with an old friend—one who just happens to take stunning portraits of your dog being their wonderfully weird self.
It all started back in 2016 with his Icelandic dog Nefja, who’s playful, full of beans, and apparently has a thing for high-up spots where she can survey her kingdom. Nefja was the reason Sven picked up a camera in the first place—and without her, Schnutenkunst wouldn’t exist.
What I love most about Sven’s work is that it’s never stiff or overly posed. His sessions are relaxed, playful, and centered on what makes your dog special. Whether they’re leaping through fields or showing off their signature trick, Sven knows how to catch those fleeting, joy-filled moments that feel like home.
📸 Emily Abrahams (Germany)
Emily’s work makes me feel things. Like, goosebumps-and-tears level things. She’s based in Trier, Germany, and somehow manages to blend dog photography, dog training, storytelling, and agility at a high-competition level… and still makes time to teach other creatives through her platform, Inspawration. (I know. Superwoman.)
Her two border collies, Loki and Journey, are the heart of her work. Emily’s photos aren’t just beautiful—they’re full of emotion and movement and a kind of soul-deep love you can’t fake.
If you’ve ever looked at your dog in a quiet moment and thought, “This. This is everything,” Emily’s photos will hit you right in that spot.
📸 Everfawkes Photography
(Full intro coming soon!)
This last one is more of a sneak peek—but I had to include them. The creative behind Everfawkes is still getting ready to share their full portfolio, but the work I’ve seen so far? Gorgeous. Moody, emotional, full of depth. Like the kind of portraits that make you stop scrolling and feel something. I’ll update this once their full site is live, but I couldn’t not tease it a little.
Whether you're looking for a photographer or just love staring at beautiful dog portraits (honestly, same), these three are definitely worth knowing about. Their work is full of heart and reminds me how lucky we are to share our lives with dogs.
Know someone else I should check out? I’m always down to discover more dog-loving creatives.
